A New Model to Plan for the Future

Inheritance management and planning built on four generations of experience

Helping You Understand What to Do With Your Inheritance

When you’re grieving the loss of a loved one, you need to make fewer decisions, not more

You may be wondering what to do with a large cash inheritance, or you may have inherited a tangle of assets including:

  • Irrevocable Trusts

  • S Corps, LLCs, and C Corps

  • Investment Real Estate

  • Private Equity and other Illiquid Assets

You need someone to provide advice and guidance on making the most of an inheritance, someone who has been through this before and knows what to look out for.

Working with Sunnybranch will help you decide what to do with inherited cash, stock, real estate, and other assets and understand the tax consequences of your inheritance.

I built Sunnybranch to support current and future inheritors as they navigate the inheritance process, manage their finances, meet their goals, and use their inherited wealth to make an impact.

I’ll meet you where you are now, and together we’ll build a plan to outline the steps of your inheritance and discuss how you’d like to use it to make an impact on your family and your community.

Let’s build a financial plan now while planning for a future inheritance.

The best way to know what to do with inheritance money? Have a plan in place before your loved one passes away.

I am passionate about working with younger inheritors who expect to inherit significant wealth well into the future. I’ll help you build a long-term plan to manage your financial life now while teaching you how to plan for a future inheritance.

Built on a Legacy of Multi-Generational Giving

Sunnybranch was founded in 2022, but the seed was planted over 100 years ago by Anne Belcher, my great-grandmother.

As one of the first women to graduate from Weill Cornell Medical School in 1920, Anne was a trailblazer for the equal treatment of women. She ran her own medical practice until the age of 95, with a firm hand and a knowledgeable, patient-centered approach.

Anne began our family tradition of giving back. My grandmother was a passionate philanthropist who made a lifelong commitment to fundraising for some of the largest organizations in Seattle and Washington state. Her example is the greatest inspiration behind my passion to promote a new model for wealth management that focuses on building a more just and equitable world.

Sunnybranch was the name of my grandmother’s home and our family gathering place on Bainbridge Island, outside Seattle.

Hi, I’m Katherine

CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER,
Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy®

I’ve always loved talking about money.

At a young age, I started learning about investing, saving, and how to build and maintain wealth. As my knowledge grew, so did my passion for sharing financial concepts with others in a simple and relatable way.

It was natural for me to end up in the wealth management industry, helping people define and meet their financial goals as an Investment Advisor, Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy®, and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER .

While this work was rewarding, I wanted to offer people a chance to reach their financial goals while creating meaning and purpose with their wealth.

Giving back to my community has been a long-standing pillar of my life.

As a fourth-generation member of a philanthropic family that successfully passed wealth and values down across generations, I believe the privilege of holding wealth confers a responsibility to give back and an obligation to investigate how we can create meaningful change in the world.

I founded Sunnybranch based on this principle, to help inheritors define their own legacy, plan for the future, grow their wealth, and become agents of change through comprehensive financial planning, impact investing, and philanthropic giving.

My work is grounded in a deep consideration of equity issues and a firm commitment to progressive causes. I’m eager to serve individuals and families who want to be part of shaping a better world for all.
